Susie Valencia has been a College Admissions Counselor for 7 years and has been serving children and families throughout her entire career. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and Ocean Studies from the University of San Diego and a M.S. in Counselor Education from Mississippi State University. She is a member of the National Association of College Admissions Counselors and a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association. She is also a Certified Educational Planner.
Susie has 3 children, a college junior studying Musical Theatre at Goldsmiths University of London, a freshman who is studying Health and Exercise Science at Colorado State University, and high school freshman who plays both school and club volleyball. Susie believes in a forming a strong connection with students through the discovery process and in creating a compelling and authentic application package to ensure the best admission results. Her approach helps students reflect on why they want to attend college and what they hope to achieve while they are there. An excellent match between a student and a college is one of the most important factors in attaining their goals.
In her free time, Susie enjoys traveling, hot yoga, and paddle surfing. She also volunteers at an animal sanctuary in Bonsall, CA where she has recently been helping to raise a cheetah cub and his companion dog. She encourages all of her students to carve out time to do things that they love and to make an impact in their communities.
